MMP & Unified Music Publishing Partnership Announce Amy Shark Signing

Mushroom Music Publishing and UNIFIED Music Publishing are thrilled to announce the recent signing of 2x ARIA Award Winner Amy Shark for Australia and New Zealand. Mushroom Music and UNIFIED have a successful history of joint ventures, including home-grown talents Vance Joy and recent ARIA Award Winner Illy.

Amy Shark has taken the industry by storm with her 2017 EP Night Thinker. Nominated for six ARIA Awards and taking home Best Pop Release and Breakthrough Artist, Shark has had a whirlwind year.

UNIFIED’s CEO & Founder, Jaddan Comerford had this to say about the signing: “After an incredible year for Amy Shark including winning two ARIA’s, a performance on James Corden and being announced as Australia’s first Apple Up Next Artist, we couldn’t be more thrilled to announce our new partnership with Mushroom Music Publishing for AUS/NZ.  UNIFIED and Mushroom have built a strong relationship over the years and I can’t wait to see that grow through working closely with Michael, Ian, Linda and the team on one of the most exciting new artists in the country right now, Amy Shark.”

Amy’s EP Night Thinker peaked at #2 on the ARIA Charts, and lead single ‘Adore’ has been ARIA accredited triple platinum. The song hit #1 on Spotify Local and Viral charts and has clocked up over 27 million streams to date. ‘Adore’ saw Shark take out the #2 spot on Australia’s largest national youth radio station poll – the annual triple j Hottest 100 in 2017.

Follow-up track ‘Weekends’ has accumulated over five million streams on Spotify and is certified ARIA Gold. All tracks from Shark’s Night Thinker have received strong support and success on triple j as well as commercial radio, with the EP hitting #1 on the iTunes Chart.

With her talents recognised by fellow musicians, Shark has toured North America in support of Vance Joy on his sold out Lay It On Me Tour in October as well as supporting Bleachers as part of their Gone Now Era Tour last month. She has also just wrapped up supporting home-grown icon Sia on her Australian stadium tour.

Familiar to life on the road, Shark has performed at major Australian festivals such as Splendour In The Grass, Groovin the Moo, Bassinthegrass and will be appearing at 2018’s Laneway Festival. She sold out all shows on both 2017 national headline tours, the 12 date Adore Tour followed by 13 shows for her Night Thinker Tour.

Shark successfully toured North America for the first time throughout June 2017, including a sold out show at Mercury Lounge in New York. Her debut London headline show at Hoxton Bar in October saw the show sell out only three days after going on sale.

Named as Apple Music’s newest Up Next Artist for November, Shark made her American TV debut on The Late Late Show with James Corden. Showcasing emerging artists, previous Up Next Artists include Billie Eilish, Khalid and 6lack.

Amy Shark has established herself as an artist to watch. After a colossal year with the success of her Night Thinker EP, only great things can be anticipated from the Gold Coast local.
