Jan Skubiskewski

Jan Skubiszewski is a multi-award-winning producer, composer, songwriter and sound engineer. A stalwart of the Australian music scene, Jan has worked in various capacities with artists such as Mark Ronson, Archie Roach, ILLY, John Butler Trio, Dan Sultan, The Cat Empire, and Delta Goodrem to name just a few.

Jan is defined by his unique ability to transform a promising concept into a hit song or record – a feat he has achieved repeatedly, across genres and generations. He’s equally adept at composing and recording music for film and television, having a raft of award-winning projects under his belt including Red Dog, Two Hands, Bran Nue Dae and Serangoon Road.

Jan’s musical education began early under the guidance of his father, acclaimed film and TV composer Cezary Skubiszewski. He then worked as a sound engineer and producer at the iconic Sing Sing Studio in Richmond, which has hosted the likes of Kanye West, Cat Power and Nick Cave.

Since those days, Jan has had runaway successes in genres ranging from hip hop to roots and rock n roll, and has produced ARIA-award winning records with Australian icons such as John Butler, and helped emerging artists hit the big time (ILLY). His work as a record producer and composer for film and television has won critical acclaim and a raft of awards and nominations at ARIA, APRA, AIR, Film Critics Circle of Australia, Screen Music Awards, National Indigenous Music Awards and many more, as well as production credits on several gold and platinum records.

Since opening Red Moon Studios in June 2017. Jan has been flat out making music with Aussie Icons such as John Butler, Dan Sultan, Karise Eden and many more, as well as composing the score to the upcoming Showcase TV series Picnic at Hanging Rock with his dad Cezary.
