Joe McKee is a professional musician, composer and recording artist. His music has been included in a broad range of media. He began his career with critically acclaimed band, Snowman, releasing three albums and touring various countries around the globe. He was the sole songwriter in the band, whose songs were included in CSI: New York, Underbelly, Home & Away and Neighbours to name just a few.
After Snowman disbanded in 2011, Joe began to focus on composing music for film, television and commercial purposes. So far, in this short space of time, he has scored three short films: Bushbasher, Ambulance and The Golden Hour. He has also composed bespoke compositions for TV commercials (including a composition for the Office of Road Safety WA) and various other promotional videos.
In May 2012 Joe will release Burning Boy, his debut solo album through Dot Dash. It confirms his place as one of Australia’s best left field composers and shows off his penchant for moody and cinematic string arrangements.
2013 is shaping up to be a busy year for Joe, with two possible feature film scores in the works and various other collaborations on the boil.
