The Preatures

The Preatures are a four-piece rock band from Sydney, Australia, fronted by Isabella ‘Izzi’¬†Manfredi on vocals and keys, guitarist Jack Moffitt, Thomas Champion on bass, and Luke Davison on drums.

The band formed in 2010 after meeting at the Lansdowne Hotel in Sydney. They released their first single ‘Take a Card’ in 2012¬† which became one of the most played tracks on Triple J radio that year. In October 2012, the band signed with Mercury Records Australia and released the ‘Shaking Hands’ EP.

After taking over a space in a run down building known as Hibernian House in the inner Sydney suburb of Surry Hills, the band set about creating their own rehearsal and recording studio,  and named it Doldrums.

Their second EP was recorded at Doldrums with Jack Moffitt at the helm, producing and mixing. It marked a major turning point for the band as the lead single and title track ‘Is This How You Feel’ became a breakthrough hit, earning both popular and critical acclaim in Australia and Internationally. Soon after The Preatures signed with Harvest Records in the US and Virgin in the UK and the band capped off a great year in 2013 scoring a #9 on the Triple J‚Äôs hottest 100 poll.

In September 2014, The Preatures released their debut album, Blue Planet Eyes to worldwide critical acclaim. It was recorded in Austin, Texas and co-produced by Jim Eno (of the band Spoon) and Jack Moffitt. Blue Planet Eyes debuted at #4 on the ARIA charts and is currently on the verge of achieving ‘gold’ status.

To date, The Preatures have performed at many of the world’s most respected music festivals including Coachella, Glastonbury, Bonarroo, Splendour In The Grass and Pentaport in Korea.

For the follow up to Blue Planet Eyes, The Preatures decided to write and record their second album in its entirety at Doldrums. They began recording in early 2016 with Jack Moffitt assuming the roll of lead producer, and with initial production assistance provided by producers Burke Reid and Eric J Dubowsky. The album was mixed by the legendary US producer Bob Clearmountain in April 2017 and it is due to be released worldwide on August 11, 2017.
